Product Description

This motor coupler is used on the Trusted Clean commercial grade floor buffers (BK-17-TC, BK-17VS-TC, BK-20-TC & BK-20VS-TC) and it transmits power from the motor's drive shaft to the gearbox and pad holder / brush. It provides mechanical flexibility to accommodate misalignment and absorb shocks. This protects the motor and other components from damage.

By absorbing shock loads and accommodating misalignment, the coupler protects sensitive and expensive components like the motor, bearings, and gearbox from premature wear and potential failure. Its primary function is to handle excessive torque. If the floor buffer pad or brush jams by catching on an obstruction, it creates a sudden, high torque load that the motor is not designed to withstand. The coupler is an inexpensive, replaceable rubberized component that is the weakest point in the drive train and is designed to fail first.
